eme isaza is an artist, writer, composer, and researcher based in Medellín, working with sound as a threshold between inner experience and shared space. Across art, writing, and research, listening becomes a way to examine how technology shapes culture.

Current work takes shape through Sonic Field, the listening community and archive eme co-founded and now edits, and Sonic Field Labs, its experimental research unit. Both support editorial and computational systems for studying how machines hear, generate, and organize sound. This work is also informed by ongoing transdisciplinary study at The New Centre for Research & Practice. Here, listening is both material and method, attending to particle and planet across multiple timescales while joining artistic practice to a critical reading of the systems that now listen back.

More than eighteen years of composition, audio production, publishing, and collective work inform this practice. Music is released as eme / Miguel Isaza and eme Zzz, with production and collaboration extending through Momoto Studio. Earlier work includes co-founding Designing Sound, Éter Lab, and the Auditum listening festival, alongside thirteen years as an audio and music technology editor at Hispasonic.
